Balboa Park

Mark and Heather came down to visit the week before Mark had to have knee surgery—one last hurrah, as it were, while he could still walk.  We had a brilliant visit, and took the opportunity to see a few more parts of San Diego we hadn't yet, including the carousel, gardens, and Spanish Artisans' Village at Balboa Park, and Seaport Village.  We also had an excellent dinner at a Mexican restaurant in Old Town.  We tried to get to the Gas Lamp District but couldn't fit it all in...something to save for next time!

There are two carousels at Balboa Park--a big traditional carousel and this one for little kids. Trinity went on this little one three times before deciding she was ready for the big one!

We rode around the park on this tiny little train.  I don't know why I'm covering my face...

Trinity and I are looking at the very friendly pondlife in the Balboa Park gardens.  There are many types of koi and some highly cute frogs.

Naturally, she wanted to get in with the fish.  Whatta little Aquarius she is!
